All 8th note combinations are played like a quarter note/8th note triplet combination.

Measure #5:  “3X” - means to play the repeated section (measure 5 - 20) 3 times

DOTTED SLUR OR TIE

Sometimes in vocal music with several verses and the same music there may be fewer or  more syllables or words in the same place in the music.  So the dotted tie or slur shows the vocalist where to make the notes longer to fit the words.  Like in measure #13..
