6 Counts(or beats) in every measure

the 8th notes gets 1 count or beat

OR:  If the tempo is faster the 8th notes get grouped in threes with an emphasis on counts 1 &  4 and then the dotted Quarter note gets the beat.

FOR EXAMPLE:

6 8ths
quater 8th02
dot quater
dot half

Also:  This rhythm (dotted 8th, 16th, 8th)
